Value Creation: Designing a strategy for a manufacturing facility

Background:
A major oil company had streamlined their manufacturing processes creating an opportunity to free up a portion of their plant’s land holdings for alternative uses. Their desire was to  design a development plan that would create complimentary uses while still maximizing the value of the excess land.

Activities Performed:
  • Worked with executive team to identify complimentary uses
  • Identified needed zoning modifications that would allow for proposed uses
  • Retained architect to design schematics and create necessary exhibits for top management
  • Created financial models and business case documents for presentation to top management

Results:
  • Business case was approved by top management
  • Client could use land proceeds to pay for plant expansion.
